M&S, Coventry
The M&S unit is located in Warwickshire Shopping Park, four miles from the heart of the centre of Coventry and completed in 2013. The unit is part of the modern mixed-use retail development designed to serve the local community, consisting of 27 individual retail units and community space. The design of the units and shopping park itself was led by the existing site constraints and Masterplan requirements.
The construction of the Shopping Park focused on high-efficiency and sustainable materials such as certified timber, recycled materials, reclaimed materials and energy/water efficient systems in place with the M&S unit in particular was looking to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating. The development balances practical design with a clear focus on sustainability.
