The site, previously a neglected area of Charlton has generated a large rapid redevelopment within the Royal Borough of Greenwich in south-east London.

Our original brief was to prepare a mixed use range of retails and commercials including a hotel with a food store. Several retailers are already trading, Sainsbury’s, M&S and Costa took just under 2 years to construct and since have anchored the park with one of their  most environmentally friendly stores to date. The buildings achieved BREEAM excellence with well insulated airtight building envelopes, ground source heat pumps and PVs on rooftop.

Formed from a combination of high quality building, landscape materials and mature trees, Woolwich Road frontage proves to be a successful public space. This development provides a much needed active place for the area and is already helping to improve the profile of the neighbourhood providing an impetus for further redevelopment.
