Project Description

Located at 130 Lord Street, in the centre of Southport Town Centre’s Lord Street Conservation Area, the Post Office had become largely redundant when sorting facilities were moved elsewhere. The opportunity arose to redevelop this prominent, grade 2 listed building whilst maintaining a Post Office presence, to provide 30 apartments. A substantial landscaped plaza to the centre of the development creates a secure amenity area for residents and the conversion and extension of the existing basement provides secure parking facilities.

  • Phase 1 saw the conversion of the offices above the retained Post Office into six apartments.
  • Phase 2 involved the conversion and extension of the warehouse onto Post Office Avenue to the rear.
  • Phase 3 is a new build section fronting Anchor Street which complements and contrasts the industrial warehouse design of the existing structure.
