Project Description

Due to its position on the corner of Wigan Road (A49) and Dawson Lane (B5248), plot 1500 is considered to be the flagship plot of the successful Matrix Park Commercial Development and the design, detailing and choice of materials for the building reflect this. The design is a departure from that chosen for the other office buildings on the park, being three storeys high, with a flat roof and enhanced fenestration, and a large entrance atrium, above is a roof terrace accessed from the second floor.

The external walls are a mixture of materials, stone, through colour render, and ‘Trespa’ panels, chosen to complement each other and the design concept. Use of brise soleils and a cantilevered roof overhang gives horizontal articulation to the elevations, balanced by the strong vertical emphasis created by the stair towers. The horizontal articulation is further emphasised by setting back the external walls of the second floor and exposing the perimeter columns, which are clad in circular casings.
