RESIDENTIAL
BLEAKLOW HALL, BURY
Situated 4 miles from the centre of Bury, Bleaklow Hall has secured full planning permission for 4 number of contemporary residential dwellings on a greenbelt and special landscape site. Views into and out of the plot is restrictive as a result of the existing, mature landscape boundary.
The main design challenges whilst designing the cluster of dwellings were to minimise impact and views on the open countryside and neighbouring buildings, varying steep site levels and a TPO tree to the centre of the site. With this in mind, the design layout together with its scale and mass of the development has adopted a natural arrangement which sees the dwellings staggered from one and another and marrying into the existing site gradients, further minimising their visibility in the greenbelt corridor. A carefully chosen palette of materials has been used, reflecting the local architectural language of stone and render.
In all, the careful thought-out high-quality development showcases the required expertise to navigate Greenbelt constraints, creating an harmonious and balanced residential scheme that respects and integrates with the natural environment.
