Bower Mattin RGP Architects are happy to announce the acquisition of Macclesfield based architects Bower Mattin Ltd, now known as RGP Bower Mattin. The practice brings with them over 20 years of experience in a wide range of architectural building types,. Most significantly they bring with them experience in local authority work, including urban regeneration, masterplanning and work with historic buildings. |

Award for Lea Bank Country Estate At the beginning of June, Hurstwood Developments and RGP Architects won an International Green Apple Award for the Built Environment and Architectural Heritage. The Gold Award for the North Region category Builders and developers Residential, for Lea Bank Hall Rossendale, was presented by David Belamy on behalf of The Green Organisation at the Tower of London on the 2nd June 2008. The Lea Bank Country Estate is made up of 8 luxury detached dwellings and 10 apartments, set in 3 acres of mature woodland. The site has been developed from a former redundant school and associated buildings and the majority of the scheme has been accommodated within the existing buildings. |

Formby Hall Golf Academy & Health Spa The new Formby Hall PGA Golf Academy has proved a great success. The 70,000 sq ft, 4 star plus hotel, golfing and leisure facility includes an 82 bed luxury hotel, together with a top class leisure suite comprising pool, gym, 8 treatment rooms, wet spa, relaxation room and cardio studio. The existing club house also received a complete upgrade as part of the overall development. This accommodation links with the core function for golfers by including new changing and shower facilities, pro-shop and state of the art demonstrator bays overlooking the driving range, allowing golfers to be video taped to evaluate their technique. |

Deepdale Retail Park, Preston The latest phase of the refurbishment of Deepdale Retail Park was completed this summer, extending the modern retail design statement across nearly half of the existing retail frontages. The on-going project, instigated by British Land, sees retailers continuing to trade during the refurbishment works, leaving store managers delighted and increasing numbers of shoppers enjoying the revitalised environment. Across the park, the national trend towards take-away food operators taking space on successful parks was reflected in the new food court opening for business this spring. Costa, Greggs and Subway are amongst the first to open for trading. |
